Overview

Lander Analytics is a New York City based boutique Data Sciences company focused on providing training and analytics consulting services to both independent firms and large global enterprises in a diverse set of industries along with government agencies, professional sports teams, pharmaceuticals, energy providers, schools and more. We also host conferences and public trainings and are committed to the open source data science community.

Scope

The ideal candidate is a problem solver who feels comfortable figuring out what they don’t already know. You should be able to work both independently with clients and collaborate with them and your coworkers as the work necessitates. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company operating in a hot space by contributing to our development and learning first hand from a talented group of enthusiastic professionals with varied backgrounds and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on best practices for their data science infrastructure needs

  • Troubleshoot issues that clients will come to with you concerning data science and infrastructure related problems

  • Stay up to date with the latest technical offerings from partners such as RStudio and Microsoft

  • Maintain company’s internal infrastructure

  • Collaborate with data scientists at the company on outside consulting engagements

  • Assist with organizing industry conferences and events

  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Data Scientist

Requirements

  • Linux system administration experience

  • Git version control experience, including best practices and troubleshooting

  • Good verbal and written and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Comfortable quickly learning and using new technologies as needed

Bonus Skills

  • Knowledge of software systems such as RStudio, Jupyter, Ansible, Docker and others

  • Data science related programming languages such as R and Python

  • Past experience with tools such as Google Drive, Asana and Slack
