transforming data into actionable insights. We’re seeking passionate individuals eager
to make an impact in data science and analytics.
Overview
Lander Analytics is a boutique data science and AI firm in New York. We've run the New York Open Statistical Programming Meetup for over a decade, host the New York and Government Data Science & AI Conferences, and write the books and courses people use to learn R and Python. We also build production systems for government agencies, finance, academic research, retail, manufacturing, insurance, energy, pharmaceuticals, and NFL front offices.

Manage infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar) across AWS environments
Support Authority to Operate (ATO) activities
Monitor pipeline health, set up alerting, and help troubleshoot production incidents
Harden environments against security findings and support vulnerability remediation
Partner with data engineers to bake security and reliability into new pipeline builds from day one
Contribute to the team's evolving DevSecOps standards and documentation
Support access management and authentication/authorization configuration (e.g., EntraID, Ranger, or similar)
Requirements
Hands-on experience in a DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or security engineering role
Working knowledge of AWS (Glue, MWAA/Airflow, EMR, S3, Lambda, Athena, or similar services)
Experience with CI/CD infrastructure as code tooling such as Ansible or Terrasform
Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum delivery model
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work closely with an entirely remote team
U.S. citizenship, with no dual citizenship, required (federal contract eligibility requirement)
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust designation
Bonus Skills
AWS certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security specialty)
Experience with data quality or observability tooling
Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles
